Tip 1 – Menu Planning:

Planning the menu is the first step for any event. For this you need to consider certain factors like number of guests and what are their preferences ie, Pure Veg,  Non veg or Mix. Next is, are there any guests with restrictions or are allergic to any food ingredients. 

Other aspect to consider is how you’re planning to serve, is it going to be a Buffet Setup or a seated meal or you’re looking only for the food delivery options.

General:
  1. Host an intimate party, cut-down your guest list as much as possible.
  2.  Do live streaming for guests who cannot not attend in person, this way you’ll save yourself & them not only from the effect of Covid but also the relatives who skipped your event can also be a part of your memorable moments virtually.
  3.  Despite reducing the guest list if the count still crosses 50 (as per Govt. norms), instead of cancelling the function altogether consider hosting the function in batches with an interval of 2-3hours. Or split them over lunch & dinner.
  4.  Ensure the venue is well ventilated & normal temperature avoiding discomfort of guests (no sweat or perspiration).
  5.  Be contactless as much as possible.
  6.  Stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arms’ length) from other people.
  7.  Sanitize the common areas & high-touch points frequently.
  8.  Follow the thermal screening process for everyone including guests & staff of those supporting your event.
  9.  Arrange UV hand sanitation stations at multiple locations.
  10.  Use Mist fans as sanitizer sprays at entrance.

This should not let you hire them just because they’re offering you the lowest price. Because the overall quality of their service / product will be compromised resulting in a highly embarrassing situation in front of your guests, and we all know how our Indian crowd is when it comes to reviewing the  functions they attend, for example no matter how perfect every aspect of the function was arranged or organised, if the food wasn’t to their satisfaction they will make hue and cry for that and will talk about it for years to come in a manner you’d least wish to hear. And this applies not just food but for any other aspect of the function – venue, décor etc.

At the end of the day the vendor has nothing to lose, even. But your reputation is on stake. Since it is the biggest day of your life you would not want to trade your reputation with some bucks, ie you may be saving few thousands but losing highly on your guests’ satisfaction and your credibility.

So why not hire professionals to handle your big event, you may be spending more but you defiantly can be assured that you’ll have the benefit of extensive knowledge and experience behind you resulting in a successful event, which ultimately is the goal of any host from their event.
